You can use Sunlu's refills on Bambu's spools, and you can re-use the RFID tags from the Bambu rolls if you want to keep the AMS updated. I used this adapter, which compensates for the narrower cardboard spool that Sunlu uses. The public RFID protocol allows for a certain value to distinguish between custom labels and Bambu filaments, which is good for improving filament utilization. It has to be said that Bambu’s filament colors are too few, and there are always too many surviving filaments.
I have sucesfully decoded all sector A keys of rfid tag. Currently waiting for shipment from Lab401 for mifare 1k tags. Some things i found till now is that every tag is different(keys,uid,.) even the 2 on same spool, and you can . I read in another thread the following statement: “As far as I can tell, the RFID tags just identify that the filament is Bambu, which material, and which color. They don’t change the slicing settings for that filament,.
Yes, cloning tags without changing content should be possible with the right magic tag. But bambulab did a great job on securing their tag system. I doubt that finding out how the tags work will be easy and happen soon no matter how many people will work on this.
This is a tutorial for reading BambuLab RFID tags that are encrypted and digitally signed. Further documentation is on the Bambu Research Group github: https://github.com/Bambu-Research-Gro. Since attempts to crack the RFID on the spools is stagnant, Bambu Labs, IMO, should offer stand alone tags we can order with pre-programmed filament types and colors (“Generic ASA”, “Generic PETG” etc.).
